# Search tokens

## When to use

Use this before a transfer when you have a ticker and not an address. It does not say which copy is safe. Buy read-token-check for that.

## Request

GET https://keespecs.grok.me/api/token/search?q={q}&limit={limit}. No payment. q is required, 1–32 letters, digits, spaces, or $ . _ -. limit is 1–25 and defaults to 10.

## Fields

- candidates is the match list. address is the keeta_ account. name, code, and description are what the index has. decimals may be null until a check.
- isOfficial is true when that address is in Keeta's constants or currency map. impostorOf is the official code when this row copies one, otherwise null.
- coverage is partial until a ledger indexer records every SET_INFO account.
- This is not supply, not a warning list, and not an audit. The paid check is GET https://keespecs.grok.me/api/token/check.
